I don’t have 2020 vision and cannot predict the future of the coming year. However, I can control my attitude and faith in God. This will impact my success more than any other as I go through the circumstances of life. Happy New Year!

As the song says, Don’t save it all for Christmas day. Spread the love you feel on Christmas day throughout the year. God calls us to love him and love others. I am keeping this in mind as I start this day after Christmas.

I just finished celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary. As I look back on the days when I was courting my wife, I can’t help but feel grateful about how God worked things out. A quote from C.S. Lewis brings everything together for me, “A woman’s heart should be so close to God that a man should have to chase him to find her.”

I need to write my Eulogy now to help me define my purpose and clarify how I want to be remembered. As Red Skelton said, “Live your life as if your funeral  is standing room only.”

Listened to my mentor Darren Hardy this morning. In a nutshell, he passed on the following wisdom. Be thankful when the going is tough. Embrace the wall and climb over it. With each wall you are leaving more competitors behind. Most people don’t want to do the difficult & scary stuff.

I am going to start a journal at the end of the day to ask myself- What did I learn today?  Should help me be proactive about gaining wisdom each day.

Jim Rohn said, “Get from the day, not just get go through the day.”

“Reacting in anger or annoyance will advance one’s ability to persuade,” Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Always looking for ways to not be my own worst enemy. In most cases, I need to be aware of my negative feelings and give my response enough time so it doesn’t come across as negative. Best medicine for anger is delay.

I am reading Daring to Lead by Brene Brown and this caught my attention about trust- “It turns out trust is in fact earned in the smallest of moments. It is earned not through heroic deeds, or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.”

I forgot who said this, but here you go, “The distance you go in life comes down to the amount of pain you are willing to endure to grow there.”
