Daily Reminders

I can’t remember if I ever posted these, but here are the daily reminders I go through each day:

God Reigns!

Scorecard: Rent is due each day and I need to earn my money.

Generosity: Be a blessing to someone each day.

Humility: Remain humble and look to wash feet.

Vulnerable: People connect on weaknesses more than strengths.

Greatness=Consistency. Have the discipline to get things done. Train like you are in second place each day.

Purposeful Work

I was watching a video with Scott Harrison the other day. Scott was talking about the charity that he founded to help bring clean water to the world. He share any interesting quote about this type of work. “Don’t be afraid of work that has no end.”

Family Time

My wife is finally breaking me away from the office for a couple days of family vacation. Why is this so hard for me to do? I know I will not be on my death bed wishing I would have spend more time at the office. Just need to let go and spend time with my boys and wife. This is the best investment I can make!

Forgiveness

I am reading a book called Crucial Conversations and it shared a neat thought on how to forgive and show empathy to others. Here it goes- “Lord, help me forgive those who sin differently than I.”

Peace of Mind

“If we cant’ be happy with what we have today, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be happy with what we have some day.” Author Unknown

Starting each day with being grateful for what I have been blessed with each day. God made us to find fulfillment through him and not money or other material goods.

Small Gestures

It is the small gestures that really grab the heart. Whether on the business or personal side, leading with the heart always leaves a strong impression. Make someone a cup of coffee, pick a friend up at the airport or send an unexpected note. I need to be reminded each day to Think Small!

Do What’s Scary

I was listening to a video from Darren Hardy this morning on how to make more money. He shared that move toward doing the things other people find scary and you’ll make a lot of money. For me, it’s been making phone calls to prospects and public speaking. I am still working on both, but they have proven to be very profitable.

Neighbor

Reread the Good Samaritan story yesterday and it helped me refocus my thinking on neighbors. Jesus’ story really helps clarify who he considers to be a neighbor. I need to continue to be vigilant about looking for people who need m y help regardless of their skin color, religious affiliation, economic status etc. People are People and my heart needs to remain open to all.

Be The Light

As I begin my day today, I am reminded that each us can positively impact the conversations and relationships that we come across during the day. I want to be a blessing to all I touch and keep my eyes open to those who need my encouragement. Make it a great day!

Customer Service- Think Small

I visited the Great Wolfe Lodge last weekend and was impressed with the customer service, mainly regarding the small things. For example, I was bringing my dirty plate up to the buffet and asked the service staff if we needed to clear our table. She promptly replied, “We handle that.” At that point, she took my dirty plate from my hand and replaced it with a clean one to go through the buffet. It those small things that really have an impact on the overall customer experience. I need to think small today.
